I'm angry too, although it's pretty clear that the majority of people (in the UK at least, and leaving aside lying Conservative politicians) followed the rules, wore masks when and where required, got vaccinated and boosted when it was their turn, and generally did the right thing. Anti-maskers, anti-lockdown types, and/or anti-vaxxers are a small, noisy minority given disproportionate attention. It's hard to keep hold of that when it feels like we're surrounded by people loudly opposed to all public health measures, but really, on the whole, people did the right thing. The problem is that as soon as things like mask-wearing stop being legally required, a lot of people immediately stop, even though they'd been diligently wearing a mask the week before.
