I agree with every word. I just didn't want to allow myself to hope, because I've been bitterly disappointed politically so many times over the past decade, and after the last Australian election, I didn't trust Australian voters to be able to see past the Murdoch press and social media disinfo (and cheap stunts like that text message sent out on election day about the boatload of Sri Lankan refugees). It was so nice to be proven wrong, with such a resounding consensus on climate change, and on Morrison's many inadequacies as Prime Minister!

I think if Dutton becomes opposition leader it will be harder to vote him out (high profile MPs tend to get reelected), but stranger things have happened. I just hope he never, ever gets anywhere near any position of true political power again.
