Erica and Tyler were the main whistle-blowers and there's a really interesting dramatic contrast inherent in their positions -- she as a woman of color from an economically disadvantaged background, him as the ultimate well-connected white guy -- and I appreciate that if the show wanted to downplay one of them at the expense of the other, it didn't automatically decide to make the privilegedguy the hero and her the sidekick. But as far as I can tell they were good friends who supported each other through the process and beyond, and considering how many terrible people there are to choose from in this narrative, I think it would have been okay to have two admirable people and figure out another source of drama.
