Beyond Selidor

There is so much going on politically that it's overwhelming. One of my friends hosted a Syrian refugee in her flat for a couple of years, and he later met and married another refugee, moved out with her, and had a couple of kids. I woke up a couple of days ago to see him posting on Facebook, and it was almost as if his emotions radiated off the screen, celebrating the fact that after fourteen years, he would be able to go home, and drink morning coffee with his parents on their balcony. The changed situation in his country is at once complex, and as simple as that.
