Beyond Selidor

I didn't like the series and stuck halfway through the second one. Everyone tells me, though, that the focus shifts and the Starks come to seem less pure. Apparently you get sections from Jaime's point of view in later books. I just found it... cloying. All the nasty people were so very, very grossly, outrageously nasty. And they all had something twisted about them sexually, whether it's incest, breast feeding when they're eight or seducing and deserting girls. The only characters I liked were Jon, Tyrion and Arya (sp?).

Have you read Josephine Tey's Daughter of Time? I already know you're a Sharon Penman fan and that's the only other WotR book I've read.

Have you read any Guy Gavriel Kay? He also writes dark historical fantasy and I really like his books. Try Tigana and Sailing to Sarantium.
